The Moral Compass of Peer Support

When Bob Lucas retired from the Vermont State Police, he knew he wasn't ready to walk away from his peers

As a peer support specialist, Bob, and sometimes his therapy dog, Tobin, (check out this official Good Boy 🐾 over on our Instagram), travel around the state and country to train and support our local police departments with their peer support programs.

Bob explains that empowering his peers to use the tools they need to support their mental health and departments to make appropriate referrals is essential work in keeping our front line strong.

By regularly and consistently empowering first responder agencies with the education and resources they need to understand how trauma affects their mental health, Bob knows he's helping departments retain and advocate for their officers.

Bob and the VCRW team are committed to working with all first responder agencies at home and abroad to understand how to implement and maintain an effective peer support program.

If you are worried about the mental welfare of your peers, contact ASAP today and let us help you build a safeguard for your agency.
